Taking after his big brother in many ways, Mac mimicked him again today. I went to the pre-school to pick him up and all the kids were out in the play yard. Mac ran over to me and I picked him up. Then one of the interns walked over and told me that Mac had pee’d in the puddle on the playground. They took him inside to finish, but he was already done! (3-24-2010 Age 4)

Mac is speaking more & more now… it’s very exciting to get to know the little guy in there better every day. Recently at preschool, he wanted to ride a scooter in the play yard. They require the kids to wear helmets riding the trikes or the scooters. So, an intern went into the little scooter shed to get Mac a helmet. It has a very low overhang on it and she hit her head. Mac said to her, “That’s why we wear helmets”! Out of the mouths of babes…

Another quick trip down the Lamprey River yesterday. Along this time were Mac, George & cousin Skylar!

George on the Lamprey River

Mac really did have fun! Wiggles was crawling all over him here so he's a little crunched!

I promised Becca some “Dad & Daughter” time today, yesterday. We went kayaking down the Lamprey River with the neighbors today. She had her first kayak ride in rapids and got to paddle a boat solo for about 1/3 of the trip. Wiggles enjoyed the trip too!

Mac has taken to playing the role of the family dog lately. He really gets into the role and has fun panting, barking, running around on all fours – and doing tricks like sit, roll over, and speak! Here’s a new trick he enjoyed: “Kennel-Up”!

Do you realize how much you do EVERY day and don’t even think about it? Making change, dialing a number, tying your shoe, putting on a shirt are all things we just do. Remember when it used to be hard? Here’s what it looked like for Mac the other day!

Look, Dad! I did it myself!

The other day, while travelling back from Florida, George and I sat in 1st class and Debbie sat in back with the kids. (I know, I tried, but she wouldn’t sit up front!) As we got on, Becca asked why George and I were getting on and they weren’t. Debbie told her we were sitting in first class… to which Becca said, “Oh, man. Don’t tell me were sitting in LAST class again”!

Hi Pete,
Last week Debbie was talking to a friend who’s daughter is in Kindergarten with her. She told Debbie that Becca was great in the “Expression Session” (Talent Show). This was the first that Debbie (or I) had heard of it. While somewhat disappointed that we missed her performance, we were more surprised that she’d performed at all. We wrote and asked her teacher how it came to pass that Becca was in the show. Her teacher was absent that day, but promised to find out and get back to us. Below is her note detailing what happened!
Amazing!

Ok – here is what happened. Becca told Mrs. A**** that she was supposed to sing in the show. When Mrs. A**** asked Pam F***** (music teacher) about it, she wasn’t sure b/c her list had gotten all mixed up b/c of the lack of school, etc. So, when Becca insisted, they said OK. !!!!
I guess she got up on stage in front of the whole school, unrehearsed, and sang, “We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas, and A Happy New Year,” took a bow and was done. What a great kid you’ve got. I am so sorry that you missed it but I think we can guarantee that she’s going to want to do it in the spring again.
I wish YOU a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Greetings to all, Trisha

Coming out of the corn-maze at Zach’s in York, Me. Mac had a ball in there, but as you can see, it was a little bit muddy! We had fun on the hay-ride to and from, and exploring. In the evening they have a flashlight-tag game in there! Way cool.

How’s about a kiss, baby? Glad to see Mom is just as lucky as Dad in keeping Mac clean and tidy!
